As part of my coursework in Illustrator fundamentals, I was tasked with recreating existing icons and objects through tracing and vector illustration. The goal was to sharpen precision, learn how to replicate visual styles, and practice building clean, scalable assets.
I selected a mix of digital and physical references, including familiar Apple app icons and the classic Nintendo Game Boy. Using Illustrator, I traced shapes, refined lines, and adjusted colors to match the originals as closely as possible. This exercise required careful observation of proportions, gradients, and subtle details that define each design.
The final outcome was a set of polished vector recreations. The Apple icons highlight an ability to replicate modern, minimal interfaces, while the Game Boy demonstrates skill in handling more intricate details and nostalgic design elements. This project strengthened my technical accuracy, improved my eye for detail, and gave me a stronger foundation for tackling both UI elements and complex illustrations in future work.
